Meet Tim Birchall - your local Northland broker

I'm Tim Birchall, and I founded KIS Insurance to do insurance differently - simply, personally, and with genuine independence. I live in One Tree Point, right here in Bream Bay, and I'm the only insurance broker based in this community.

After years in the industry, I saw too many Kiwis sold policies they didn't understand by people who didn't know them. So I built KIS around a simple idea: take the time to understand what each client actually needs, then find the right cover at the right price - and explain it in plain English.

Because I'm independent, I'm not tied to any one insurer. I work for you, not the insurer. That means I compare options across the market, negotiate terms on your behalf, and - most importantly - advocate for you at claim time, when it matters most.

Insurance is something I live and breathe, not just something I sell. I'm an active member of the Whangarei Volunteer Coast Guard, I'm based at Marsden Cove, and I sit on the Marsden Yacht and Boat Club Management Committee. When I'm not arranging cover for clients, you'll find me as regular crew on an Elliott 1350 yacht racing out of Marsden Cove. In other words, the marine and coastal risks I insure are the same ones I know first-hand.
